Mycoremediation Laboratories
Researchers use these spaces for developing remediation technologies base on the use of both novel and well-characterized fungal species. The Sequim laboratory maintains a growing library of fungal isolates (with an emphasis on aquatic species) stored as frozen, lyophilized, or viable stock cultures. The laboratories are equipped to enable a wide range of sterile culture techniques necessary for pure culture isolation from complex environmental matrices.
