Biography

Ramprashad Prabhakaran is a Materials Scientist in the Materials Characterization team within the Reactor Materials and Mechanical Design Group. He has extensive experience in evaluating environment-induced degradations, performing mechanical and microstructural characterizations of nuclear materials and understanding structure-property-processing relationships. He is the PI and task lead for several projects supporting NSUF, FCRD, RERTR/MMM and Office of Science. He has authored over 35 publications. He is the recipient of 2015 TMS SMD Young Leader Professional Development Award, 2017 TMS SMD Young Professional Best Poster Award, 2018 Battelle Community Spirit Award, 2019 PNNL Laboratory Director’s Award for STEM Education and travel awards from USDOE, ASME, ANS and TMS to attend conferences/seminars.
