Shorett Represents US at NATO Workshop on Environmental Management Systems

ETD’s Jean Shorett will represent the United States at the upcoming NATO workshop on “Implementation of Environmental Management Systems in the Military Sector,” September 27 to October 1 in Sonthofen, Germany. The meeting is designed to share experiences implementing EMS in the military sector, review feasibility of performance indicators, and foster mentoring partnerships to accelerate the transfer of knowledge. Broad participation from 21 NATO and Partnership for Peace countries is expected. NATO’s Committee on Challenges of Modern Society sponsors the meeting. Jean also represented the U.S. at the 2002 EMS meeting in Vyskov, Czech Republic. Jean is currently on loan from PNNL to the Department of Defense’s Defense Logistics Agency where she leads the DLA EMS Initiative. She has more than 30 years of expertise in environmental management systems, strategic planning, performance measures, statistical and policy analyses, program evaluation, environmental protection and restoration, and non-engineering barriers to technology use.
