Richard Corley Serves on National Academies' Perchlorate Study

January 2005
ETD's Richard Corley was selected to serve on the National Academy of Sciences Committee to Assess the Health Implications of Perchlorate Ingestion. Richard received this prestigious appointment because of his expertise in physiologically based pharmacokinetic models, toxicology and human health risk assessments. The results of the committee's 15-month study on perchlorate, the primary component of solid rocket propellant, will be used to determine if the Environmental Protection Agency's 2002 draft toxicological review is consistent with current scientific evidence. The committee will also suggest specific research that could reduce the uncertainty regarding the effects of ingesting low levels of perchlorate.
