Rohay Reawakens Mt. St. Helens in Erupting Lecture

October 2006
ETD's Alan Rohay's lecture about the Pacific Northwest's most active volcano, Mount St. Helens went off with a bang. For a crowd of more than 70, Alan presented for PNNL and Columbia Basin College's Community Science and Technology Seminar Series. Alan used stunning aerial photographs and his extensive knowledge of the region's seismic features to discuss the 1980 eruption, and the volcano's current state and possible future. Alan's background in volcanic hazard areas, tectonics, noise characterizations and his analysis of earthquake return rates made him an excellent choice for this lecture. The seminar series was launched to help the public better understand how science transforms our world. Congratulations, Alan!
