PNNL's Wayne Johnson Honored by OSU

March 2015

Wayne Johnson, division director of Earth Systems Science, was named to the Academy of Distinguished Engineers in a ceremony held at Oregon State University (OSU) in Corvallis, Ore. on Feb. 25.

The annual Oregon Stater Engineering Awards were introduced in 1998 by the College of Engineering to recognize outstanding alumni for their contributions in the engineering profession and to Oregon State University. The Academy of Distinguished Engineer award is given to individuals with at least 20 years of professional experience who have made sustained and distinguished contributions to the profession, the field, the university, or society at large.

Johnson earned his bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from OSU and completed his master's degree in Engineering Management at Washington State University. He joined PNNL in June of 2000 and currently oversees about 240 staff who perform a wide range of environmental work.
