PNNL's Stoustrup Appointed by IEEE

February 2015

Jakob Stoustrup, a scientist in PNNL's Electricity Infrastructure group, has been appointed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Control Systems Society's Board of Governors to three positions this year. He will serve as the General Chair of the 2018 Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA); Chair of the Technical Committee on Smart Grids; and as a Member of the Board of Governors.

IEEE is the world's largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. Its Control Systems Society is dedicated to the advancement of research, development, and practice in automation and control systems. It has broad technical interests in dynamical systems and control that include modeling, adaptation, estimation, optimization, feedback and software/hardware tools.

Stoustrup is an internationally recognized researcher in control systems technology. These IEEE appointments recognize his leadership and important contributions—helping to advance the design, realization, and operation of control systems technology—to this research community.
