Neitzel Named Fellow by American Institute of Fisheries Research Biologists

August 2004
ETD staff scientist Duane Neitzel achieved one of the highest levels of recognition that a fishery scientist can achieve. He was appointed a Fellow in the American Institute of Fishery Research Biologists, which advances the theory, practice and application of fishery and related sciences. For more than 30 years, Duane has studied the relationship between energy generation and aquatic environments. His research in both the field and the laboratory has shown how power plants, water intakes and other engineered systems affect fish and other aquatic species in rivers, lakes and oceans. His research has been presented in more than 100 publications and at national and international symposia. Congratulations, Duane!
