Alan Rohay Gives Erupting Presentation on Mount St. Helens

May 2006
ETD's Alan Rohay discussed the reawakening of Mount St. Helens, during the Community Science and Technology Seminar Series sponsored by PNNL and Columbia Basin College. Alan used aerial photographs to expound on the history, seismicity, glacier and dome impacts, the 1980 eruption and current restlessness, and the possible future of Mount St. Helens. As a senior research scientist, Alan has conducted a variety of seismology projects in areas of seismic hazards, tectonics, seismic noise characterization, nuclear/chemical explosion and rock burst discrimination. He supports the Hanford Site by documenting historical and instrumental earthquake recurrence rates and seismic hazard analyses. Congratulations, Alan, on an excellent presentation!
