Darrell Fisher's Hot Topic at Nuclear Medicine Conference

August 2006
Congratulations to ETD's Darrell Fisher, whose submission to the Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine was selected as a highlight lecture. The paper, "Myeloablative radioimmunotherapy for patients with high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome and advanced acute myelogenous leukemia: radiation dosimetry for bone marrow and normal organs in treatment planning and follow-up," was coauthored by individuals at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The paper is based on a twenty-one year clinical research study aimed at developing better antibody radiation treatments for leukemia patients who do not respond to normal chemotherapy. Within this research, Darrell's job is to perfect the dosimetry of this treatment method so the maximum dose can be delivered to the patient without fatality. Congratulations again, Darrell!
