Bob Scherpelz Develops Guidance for Responding to Radiological Emergencies in Underdeveloped Countries

August 2006
ETD's Bob Scherpelz has been participating on the Radiological Sources Expert Group of the Assistance Working Group to aid in developing guidance for developed countries to assist less-capable countries during radiological emergencies. The time and effort involved in developing appropriate guidance will help ensure that these countries are ready and able to respond effectively if an emergency should occur. Since 1978, Bob has been working for PNNL as a health physicist. He has contributed to the design of dosimeters, the implementation of neutron detection instrumentation, and shielding and dosimetry calculations. His research and experience in emergency response make him an excellent choice for this work. Congratulations, Bob, for work well done!
