Rick Brouns Named Chief Process Engineer for Waste Treatment Plant Project

Rick Brouns recently accepted the role of Chief Process Engineer for the Waste Treatment Plant following an agreement between PNNL and Bechtel National to finalize the plant's process design. Rick will help to resolve major technical issues at the plant, including the effectiveness of the high level waste pretreatment processes such as the caustic leaching process and the ultrafiltration system Rick was chosen for this position because of his chemical engineering background and experience with engineering design processes. He will apply his knowledge and skills learned from previous assignments developing and designing processes for treating wastes at the Savannah River site and a waste vitrification facility in New York. Congratulations, Rick!
