PNNL's Triplett Receives Japanese Consul General's Award

January 2015

On January 22, the Consulate General of Japan in Seattle recognized six individuals for their contributions to Japan-U.S. relations. Among the six was Mark Triplett, a senior advisor in Energy and Environment's Risk & Decision Sciences group. In a ceremony help during the New Year's Reception at the Official Residence, they were each awarded the Consul General's Commendation.

According to the Consulate General's press statement, "Mr. Triplett has become an invaluable resource to Japan in recent years, providing opportunities to learn from Hanford in response to Fukushima incident, facilitating visits to the site, as well as giving lectures and briefing Diet (Parliamentary body) members on trips to Japan."

For more information on Mr. Triplett's work in Japan, read the 2013 Tri-Cities Herald story.
