Bruce Napier Elected to Prestigious Radiation Protection and Measurement Council

ETD''s Bruce Napier, Staff engineer, was elected to a six-year term as a member of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements. Chartered by Congress, the Council assembles expert guidance on the whole spectrum of radiation protection science, technology and practice. Bruce was elected because of his national and international experience in environmental radiation protection. For example, he has been a key contributor on the Hanford Environmental Dose Reconstruction project, which estimated the possible doses to people living near Hanford from 1944 to 1992. In addition, he is a principal investigator studying the health impacts of people living near Russia''s largest plutonium production site.
