Bradbury to Assist National Research Council in Understanding Public and Waste Cleanup

June 2004
ETD's Judith Bradbury will soon be providing recommendations for future research and practice into public participation and decision making to the National Research Council and to the nation. She was invited by their Public Participation in Environmental Assessment and Decision Making Panel to develop a paper, based on case studies at waste cleanup sites, that elucidates key factors which account for variation in the outcomes of public participation processes. The council requested a very small number of papers by leading researchers and practitioners in public participation and decision making. The papers will be used by the council to provide government agencies with a clearer understanding of how to successfully involve the public in decisions at toxic waste sites. Congratulations, Judith!
