DOE Worker Dose Reconstruction Technical Support

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health conducts evaluations of radiation dose to U.S. Department of Energy employees under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000. PNNL staff participate in this program through technical evaluations of exposure pathways and parameters significant to a retrospective evaluation of worker dose beginning with the Manhattan Engineer District national initiative to develop U.S. nuclear weapon capabilities in the mid-1940s. PNNL staff prepare detailed site profiles and technical basis documents for selected sites and generic guidance for selected technical issues.
