Olympic Region Harmful Algal Bloom Monitoring Program

Harmful algal blooms are a common occurrence on the Washington State coast and of major concern to tribes, agencies and recreational and commercial harvesters. Working on the Olympic Region Harmful Algal Bloom (ORHAB) project, the PNNL Marine Sciences Laboratory assisted in investigating the mechanisms driving blooms of biotoxin-producing algae and examining the timing and location of events along the Washington coast.
