Nuclear Safety & Licensing Support
PNNL is providing support to Hanford Site contractors to produce safety basis analyses and documentation as required by U.S. Department of Energy regulation 10 CFR 830: Nuclear Safety Management. This support consists of performing hazard and accident analysis on nuclear related facilities, processes, facility modifications and new system designs to identify the likelihood and consequences of potential accidents; development and assessment of safety control strategies (including engineered and administrative controls) based on these analyses to prevent or mitigate accidents; and development of safety basis documentation.
