Chehalis Basin Characterization

PNNL used an innovative approach to characterize the environmental conditions in the Chehalis River Basin. This approach employs an integrated, adaptive and web-based information management framework to expedite the characterization process while ensuring the highest level of accountability, adaptability and accessibility. This characterization project was initiated by Grays Harbor County and the Seattle District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The project provided the information needed to make decisions regarding actions to improve flood control and restore degraded ecosystem functions and processes necessary to improve water quality and support fish and wildlife habitat.
