Water Resource Management

PNNL scientists and engineers are leaders in applying scientific methods to water resource management issues. Our scientists work with water resource managers to help them assess the tradeoffs between conflicting objectives. This ensures decisions are based on hard data and sound scientific methods. Our scientists and engineers have combined physical, chemical and biological process models with advanced optimization procedures to ensure our clients understand the tradeoffs between cost and risk.

Our water resource management approaches are based on a unique suite of monitoring, modeling and assessment services that include:

  • Information management
  • Watershed modeling
  • Water resource optimization
  • River and estuarine modeling
  • Water quality monitoring
  • Monitoring system
  • Design groundwater modeling
  • GIS analysis
