Special Atmospheres Assembly Lab

The Special Atmospheres Assembly Lab is one of six laboratory spaces staff members have access to. This laboratory spaces is unique in that it has inert glove-boxes for special handling of various materials and components.

The positive-pressure inert atmosphere glove box can be used for assembly, testing and packaging of oxygen sensitive components and assemblies. The glove box may be used with nitrogen, argon, or helium atmospheres depending on project requirements.

A seal-weld is being completed in the inert atmosphere glove box. The working fluid inside this assembly is purified helium. Final assembly (and seal-welding) is completed inside the inert atmosphere glove box with a purified helium atmosphere <10ppm oxygen+water.
