Biography

Mr. Andersen is a project manager with strong ties both in the Energy and Environmental Directorate and the National Security Directorate mission fields, with twenty-plus years of project management experience responsible for building and leading teams of cross-cutting science and engineering disciplines. He has extensive laboratory operations and field deployment experience. As a Lead Engineer he was responsible for the design, fabrication, integration, testing, and deployment of a wide range of electro-mechanical automated systems. He was responsible for integrating mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and sensor systems into fully functional, fieldable systems using a systems engineering approach. He has a DOE Q clearance, experience working in Limited Areas, and with Radiological requirements. Mr. Andersen brings a unique perspective in his role as a project manager because he has experienced the roles and responsibilities in each of the technical career paths available at the Laboratory (Technician, Specialist, S&E, and Manager). He has been at the Laboratory since 1990.
