Biography

Kriston Brooks is the lead for the Process Engineering Team and a chief engineer with more than 25 years of experience in experimental design, computer modeling, and project management. He has a Master's degree in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University in the area of solid rocket propellant combustion. Mr. Brooks has performed simulations and radioactive experimental work in the field of radioactive tank waste separations in the areas of ion exchange, cross flow filtration, membranes, and settle/decant. He has done modeling and experimental work in the areas of heat transfer and reaction engineering for such applications as microchannel reactors for fuel processing and hydrogen storage for fuel cell vehicles. He has been a technical lead and project management in the area of plutonium disposition. The technical work included development of process drawings, throughput modeling, technical maturity assessments, and option studies. He has managed life cycle cost estimates, criticality analyses, and demonstrations.
