Biography

Bharat Vyakaranam is a senior research engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, leading research activities in the area of power system modeling, dynamic simulation analysis and control for stability, and integration of renewable energy in power grid studies. He has led in developing several new capabilities and methodologies to keep nation’s infrastructure secure and resilient. Bharat Vyakaranam recently led teams to construct database management module for Dynamic Contingency Analysis Tool (DCAT) and automated the process of running, extracting and saving the data into database. These DCAT enhancements can help planning engineers to visually explore and analyze system behavior all in one view... This new capability is being used in Puerto Rico and NAERM project He has published more than 25 peer reviewed journal and conference papers, as well as dozens of technical reports.

He also serves as a reviewer of top-level journals in the area of power systems, including IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, etc.
