Biography
Bob joined PNNL in 2013 as Senior Staff Lighting Engineer. Before joining PNNL, Bob's career in lighting included experience with a large publicly-owned lamp manufacturer and most recently with an employee-owned luminaire manufacturer, where he led the new product development, engineering, and marketing teams. He has also taught and conducted research in lighting as a faculty member at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Lighting Research Center and in the Architectural Engineering program at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His education in engineering and cognitive psychology provides a foundation for considering both the technical and human impacts of architectural lighting. He is a Fellow of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, a recipient of the New York State Governor’s Award for Energy Excellence, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education.
