Biography

Kate Deters is a research scientist in the Ecology Group. Since joining PNNL in 2001, her work has focused on evaluating the effects of acoustic tagging on the survival and growth of juvenile salmonids and other fish species. She has played a key role in many large in-river survival studies in the Columbia, Snake, and Willamette River basins. Kate serves as lead fish surgeon trainer for transmitter implantation and is recognized internationally as an expert in fish surgery and tag implantation.
