Biography

Arnab Bhattacharya graduated with a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (with an emphasis on Operations Research) from the department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh in 2017. His dissertation research centered on creating novel, stochastic optimization models and associated computational techniques to determine optimal strategies for using stored energy in grid-connected microgrids. Arnab recently joined the Optimization and Controls group (OCG) as a postdoctoral research associate. At PNNL, he is working on a DOE-sponsored project to develop new adaptive-control strategies to minimize power consumption in commercial buildings. Arnab is currently a member of IEEE, INFORMS, the INFORMS Applied Probability Society, and the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).
