Biography
Nicole joined PNNL in October of 2022 as part of the Building Operations and Controls Team. She will be focusing on projects which help increase building energy efficiency and resilience. Nicole has a background in building systems. She previously worked as a mechanical engineer for a startup focusing on energy efficient indoor agriculture buildings where she designed energy efficient HVAC systems and implemented water recapture to help reduce water waste. She also has experience performing industrial energy audits from her time working with the DOE’s Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) at North Carolina State where she obtained a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Along with working for the IAC, Nicole performed a feasibility study on a combination geothermal and solar thermal heating system for a residential building for her thesis research at NC State.
