PNNL's electric vehicle charging technology demonstrated at D.C. conference

 Grid Friendly™ Charger Controller

The Grid Friendly™ Charger Controller, which automatically recharges electric vehicles during times of least cost to the consumer and lower demand for power, was featured by PNNL at the Electric Drive Transportation Association's conference and annual meeting in Washington, D.C., in April 2011.

The exhibit included a feed of real-time grid data that allowed staff from PNNL to demonstrate the controller's ability to stop and start charging based on power availability and price.

For information on licensing the Grid Friendly™ Charger Controller, see PNNL's Available Technologies.

A podcast by PNNL commercialization manager Peter Christensen is available on the Center for Environmental Innovation and Leadership website.
