Dosimeter Performance Testing

PNNL has developed irradiation techniques to test compliance of a customer's dosimeters according to American National Standard ANSI N13.11-1993. We can also perform National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Laboratory Accreditation Program (DOELAP) accredited proficiency testing on dosimeters. PNNL staff are experienced at providing technical assistance for the design and modification of dosimeters and calibration techniques, and we offer additional assistance to help organizations comply with NVLAP and DOELAP requirements. The NVLAP-accredited Calibration Laboratory for Ionizing Radiation (lab code 105020-0) is equipped with extensive instrumentation, National Institute of Standards and Technology-traceable sources, bremsstrahlung and k-fluorescence X-Rays and a Buchler beta irradiator.
