Planning and Implementation of Public Involvement Related to Carbon Sequestration Research, 2002-Present

PNNL is currently conducting public involvement in relation to the assessment of geologic formations in the Ohio River Valley to confirm the suitability of the area for carbon capture and disposal. As part of the $4.2 million climate change research project (funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, American Electric Power (AEP) and other industrial partners), PNNL has prepared information materials, conducted a systematic media analysis and is planning and implementing a workshop with national environmental groups.
